Romana was a part of Teach For India’s first cohort of Fellows (2009). Her belief in the power of leadership led her to join the Training & Impact team straight after graduating from the program. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from St. Xavier’s, Mumbai. Romana has designed the literacy curriculum & assessment, led the development of the leadership framework for the Fellowship and is working to establish a stronger impact evaluation for the program. She is keen to strengthen the program and build leaders who will strive for equity in education and work to ensure that all children get the excellent education they deserve.
Blended learning refers to curriculums that are delivered online and in traditional brick-and-mortar classrooms. As more schools get reliably connected to the Internet, more educators are wondering how to best leverage digital learning in class. In this session we’ll hear from a literacy organization developing blended learning content for school-aged students, a Teach for All partner organization (Teach for India) that’s piloted a scalable technology-based professional development platform for teachers, and explore practical ways that you can record and share your own videos on a dime.
In this session we will explore the role of student leadership and how putting students at the center and enabling them to take ownership of their learning helps them shape a better life for themselves and their communities. We will hear about multiple approaches to fostering student leadership and have a conversation with the students about how these approaches have shaped their own leadership journey.
