
Born in Vratsa, Bulgaria, Emo Kadiyski graduated from the local Mathematics high school and received his bachelor’s degree in Informatics from Sofia University. He worked as a software developer in Sofia before joining Teach For Bulgaria and becoming a high school teacher in one of the city’s high-need schools. In 2013, Emo launched Vratsa Software, offering free programming courses in his hometown. At the end of 2015 there are 8 people working as software developers in Vratsa after finishing the courses. Two software companies opened offices in the town. In 2015 Vratsa Software got funded by Google RISE Awards program to continue with the free courses.
When Emo is not working to expand Vratsa Software to reach more students and software companies, he enjoys playing football, skiing and kung fu.
